THREE YEAR SPECIALISATION COURSE
SEM -V
DESIGN COLLECTION AND PORTFOLIO BUILDING
This course aims to enhance students’ creativity, design skills, and ability to conceptualize and execute collections that align with target market and brand identity. Students will also learn to build a strong portfolio showcasing their work and demonstrating their unique design style and aesthetic.
APPAREL QUALITY MANAGEMENT -I
This course teaches the fundamentals of quality control, inspection, testing, and management to ensure garments meet required standards and specifications.
VISUAL PRESENTATION AND COMMUNICATION– I
This foundational course helps interior designers develop and communicate original ideas. It covers basics of technical drafting, illustrative sketching, and presenting work using various media.
TEXTILE CARE AND REMEDIES
This course provides an understanding of different fabric types and their care requirements. Students will learn methods of textile care, including washing, ironing, and dry cleaning, as well as identifying common textile problems and their solutions. Topics include fabric testing, stain removal techniques, proper storage methods, and the environmental impact of textile care practices.
DRAPING AND NEEDLE CRAFT -I
This course teaches students how to create patterns using fabric draping techniques and enhances their understanding of garment construction, fit, and design. Students will learn about different fabric types and how to select them based on their properties and characteristics.
SEM -VI
DESIGN CONCEPT AND ART PORTFOLIO
This course aims to develop students’ understanding of design concepts and principles, enhancing their artistic skills through the creation of an art portfolio.
APPAREL QUALITY MANAGEMENT -II
This course builds on previous knowledge, focusing on effectively managing apparel quality from design to production and delivery.
FABRIC SELECTION AND USAGE
This course provides an understanding of the characteristics, properties, and uses of various fabrics. Students will develop skills to select appropriate fabrics for different apparel products and understand the impact of fabric selection on product quality, cost, and sustainability.
DRAPING AND NEEDLE CRAFT -II
This course deepens students’ knowledge and skills in draping and needlecraft techniques for apparel production. Students will learn to create apparel designs through fabric manipulation and various needlecraft methods.
FASHION DESIGN CONCEPT AND PRESENTATION
This course offers students the opportunity to apply their acquired knowledge, skills, and techniques in creating a final design project. The focus is on conceptualizing, developing, and presenting a cohesive and professional fashion design collection.
